Our Services
In-Person Site Consultations
We come out and walk the land with you. Our goal is to help you understand your site’s high level patterns, challenges, and opportunities. We aim to answer all of your most pressing questions and give you recommendations for next steps. Site consultations can be for projects of any size, from small urban lots to rural farms in Whatcom, Clallam, Jefferson, & King counties.
Remote Consultations
Sessions are usually 60-90 minutes and are designed to support landowners, land stewards, or project leads who want clear, grounded guidance without a full design. We’ll review your goals, and plans, and explore possible opportunities and challenges together. The goal is to offer clarity and momentum, whether you’re just beginning or refining what’s already in motion.
Holistic Management Consulting
The holistic management framework, created by Allan Savory, is a decision-making and land management approach that integrates social, economic, and environmental considerations to create regenerative outcomes. It's a values-based, adaptive management system applicable to a variety of situations, from households to entire ecosystems. We offer a multi-quarter consulting framework for land owners with 10 acres or more, interested in this framework and implementing projects that work. Please reach out to learn more.
Pre-Purchase Property Assessments
Choosing the right land is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. We can help you assess whether a property will fit your goals, provide an assessment for potential opportunities and challenges, or compare multiple lots if necessary. Using a series of site-specific criteria, maps, and land observation tools and testing, we help you make an informed and confident decision before you invest. Assessments can be created for in-person and remote sites.
Project Management & Technical Specifications
We offer ongoing project management services to ensure your project is successful. We can also do technical specifications for specific projects such as rain cistern and rain water harvesting calculations, composting toilets, biochar systems, grey-water collection, herbal foliar sprays, etc.
Speaking Engagements & Custom Workshops
Victoria is certified to teach via the Permaculture Institute of North America and offers talks and workshops for community groups, schools, design collectives, and land-based organizations. Topics range from permaculture and regenerative land design to gardening, food forests, water systems, holistic management, and more. Get in touch to book a custom offering.
FAQ
HOW DO I KNOW WHETHER TO BOOK A CONSULTATION OR INVEST IN A FULL DESIGN?
If you’re looking for clarity on a few key decisions, want to talk through options, or need guidance without a full set of drawings, a consultation is the right fit. A full design makes sense if you’re ready for a detailed, step-by-step plan for your whole site. Many people start with a consultation, then decide later whether to move forward with a complete design package.
WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE BEFORE OUR MEETING TO GET THE MOST OUT OF IT?
It helps to bring any site maps, photos, or sketches you already have, along with a list of your goals and questions. If you’re not sure what to prepare, don’t worry — just showing up with curiosity and openness is enough. We’ll guide you through the rest.
DO YOU OFFER CONSULTATIONS OUTSIDE OF WHATCOM, CLALLAM, JEFFERSON, & KING COUNTIES?
Absolutely. We work with spaces of all sizes, from small front yard edible gardens to large rural installations.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING PERMACULTURE PRINCIPLES IN INSTALLATION?
Yes. You’ll receive a written summary of our conversation along with clear recommendations for next steps. In some cases, we’ll also provide maps, sketches, or resources specific to your site.
WHAT KINDS OF PROJECTS OR LAND SIZES ARE TOO SMALL (OR TOO LARGE) FOR A CONSULTATION?
No project is too small for a consultation — we’ve worked with everything from small urban backyards to large farms. For very large properties, consultations are often the first step before diving into a multi-phase design or Holistic Management framework.
CAN YOU REVIEW OR GIVE FEEDBACK ON EXISTING PLANS OR IDEAS?
Yes. Many clients book consultations to review layouts, planting ideas, water systems, or project plans before investing time and money into implementation.
